DNS

DNS makes sure a domain name like example.com points to the right place — a website, a mail server, or something else. You manage DNS records in Plesk under Websites & Domains → DNS Settings.

The most common record types

• A record — points a domain to an IPv4 address (e.g. your website).
• AAAA record — the same, but for an IPv6 address.
• CNAME — an alias that points to another domain (e.g. www to the main domain).
• MX — determines which server receives email for the domain.
• TXT — often used for verification or SPF/DKIM (email spam protection).

Change not visible yet?

A DNS change is usually active within a few minutes to a few hours, but in exceptional cases can take 24-48 hours because other DNS servers worldwide haven't refreshed their cache yet. Check the status with a tool like whatsmydns.net.
